WHAT IS PRECISE EYE TRACKING AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO LASIK

Although the eye surgeon will apply numbing drops in the eye, there is no guarantee that there won’t be even the slightest of movement during surgery. For a precise and safe procedure, constant positioning and exact centering of the eye is important.

ABOUT LASIK TREATMENT

LASIK is a special type of  procedure that is minimally invasive. LASIK is where the flap cut from the eye to is thinner. It is believed to reduce recovery time and risk of complications. It is by far the best available option for your LASIK surgery in the medical industry today

PROCEDURE

HOW DOES LASIK WORK?

1. Reshaping the cornea

Reshaping the cornea alters the focusing power of your eye which lets you be completely free from glasses and contact lenses

2. Advanced technology

LASIK uses advanced technology to achieve superior results while ensuring the safety of the procedure

3. Rehabilitation

The procedure can be customized; it takes in the patient's needs at every turn to create the right treatment

If you're considering LASIK surgery, you probably already wear glasses or contact lenses. Your eye doctor will talk with you about whether  LASIK surgery or another similar refractive procedure is an option that will work for you.

TREATMENT PROCEDURE

COURSE OF TREATMENT – STEP BY STEP

1. Personal consultation, no obligation

In a personal consultation, your doctor will first evaluate if your eyes are suitable for LASIK Eye Treatment. All relevant parameters of the eye will be measured.

2. Comprehensive preliminary evaluation

Before LASIK eye surgery, you will meet with a coordinator or eye surgeon who will discuss what to expect during and after the procedure. During this session, your medical history will be evaluated and your eyes will be fully examined. Likely initial tests include measuring corneal thickness, refraction, corneal mapping, eye pressure, and pupil dilation. Once you have gone through the initial evaluation, you will meet the surgeon, who will answer any questions you may have. Afterwards, you can schedule an appointment for the procedure.

If you wear rigid gas permeable contact lenses, you should not wear them for at least three weeks before your evaluation. Other types of contact lenses shouldn't be worn for at least three days prior to the evaluation. Be sure to bring your eyeglasses to the surgeon so your prescription can be reviewed.

On the day of your surgery, eat a light meal before going to the doctor and take all of your prescribed medications. Do not wear eye makeup or have any bulky accessories in your hair that will interfere with positioning your head under the laser. If you are not feeling well that morning, call the doctor's office to determine whether the procedure needs to be postponed.

3. The LASIK Eye Treatment

During LASIK eye surgery, an instrument called a microkeratome or femtosecond laser is used to create a thin flap in the cornea. The cornea flap is then painlessly peeled back and the underlying corneal tissue is reshaped using another laser. After the cornea is reshaped so that it can properly focus light onto the retina, the cornea flap is put back in place and the surgery is complete.

LASIK is performed while the patient is under local anesthesia in the form of eye drops (no shots, no needles) and usually takes about 10 minutes to complete. Patients may also request mild sedation. Plan to have someone drive you home after surgery.

4. After LASIK Eye Treatment

Your eyes will temporarily be dry even though they do not feel that way. Your doctor will give you prescription eye drops to prevent infection and inflammation and eyedrops to keep your eyes moist. These drops may cause a momentary slight burn or blurring of your vision when you use them. Do not use any eye drops not approved by your eye doctor.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much is the procedure?

The procedure is conveniently priced at 2,997 AED which is a special offer that expires at the end of the month. The original price for LASIK is 13,200 AED.

Is Insurance Covered?

Yes, select insurance partners cover the LASIK treatment, feel free to contact us for a complete list of insurance partners for your reference.

Are results Long Lasting?

In more cases, the improved vision of LASIK surgery provides permanent results. But in a very limited number of cases - usually due to changes that can occur in the lens inside the eye, with or without LASIK surgery, some nearsightedness, farsightedness and/or astigmatism can return over time, causing blurry vision. If a regression of this sort occurs and becomes bothersome, a follow-up procedure called a LASIK enhancement usually can be performed to restore clear vision.

Does LASIK hurt?

LASIK does not hurt during or immediately after the procedure. Before your LASIK eye treatment begins, numbing eye drops are used to alleviate any pain or discomfort to the eye during the quick procedure.
